1 . rattling mucous; hard to expectorate

Antimonium tartaricum:

  • Affinity for respiratory tract, esp lower resp. tract 
  • Used at the end of pneumonia or long standing resp. infection
  • Fairly exhausted 
  • Person is irritable due to being sick
  • Very weak
  • Pulse can be feeble
  • A lot of sleepiness
  • Chief complaint will often be cough; cough will cause rattling in the chest, person is too weak to cough anything up
  • Can by cyanotic

Cuprum metallicum:

  • Many people in the criminal justice system
  • Want order: in their lives and others lives
  • Knows what's good for everyone
  • Spasm of all sorts
  • Convulsions
  • Facial grimaces
  • Consider for Tourette's syndrome
  • Very cyanotic
  • Spasmodic coughs >cold drinks
  • Muscle cramping

Droscera rotundifolia:

  • Affinity for respiratory mucosa
  • Spasmodic cough <after midnight
  • Paroxysms of coughing causing vomiting (c/o nausea)
  • Can't catch their breath
  • Consider for Pertussis
  • Severe cough can produce nosebleed
  • Will splint chest due to pain
  • Cough after midnight

Rumex crispus:

  • Mucous membrane respiratory tract affinity
  • Generals: < cold or uncovered
  • < open air
  • Coughs worse outside
  • < taking deep breath
  • < talking and laughing
  • Aggravated in morning and 11pm at night
  • Pushing on larynx elicits cough
  • Inspiration of cold air causes tickle in the throat
  • Wants to suck on candy

Sanguinaria:

  • Right sided remedy
  • Generals: ameliorated by flatus
  • Cough better from flatus
  • Right sided migraine that typically begins at the back of the neck and goes up over the eye, HA better from vomiting and burping
  • Hayfever 
  • Extremely sensitive to odors of flowers and vegetation
  • Right sided bursitis

Spongia:

  • Tickling constriction and dryness in pit of throat
  • Cough worse lying down
  • Cough worse before midnight
  • Coughs is usually dry and sounds like a seal barking
  • Consider for Croup
  • Better from eating and drinking, esp warm drinks

 Stannum:

  • Cough that appears later
  • Very weak
  • Hard time walking across the room
  • Worse exertion
  • Worse talking
  • Better lying down
  • Can hardly speak due to feeling of suffocation
  • Productive cough (stuff comes up)
  • Weepy, whiny, changeable

Symphytum:

  • Very useful remedy
  • Affinity for bones and eyes
  • Injuries to eye ball, eg scrape to eyeball, broken blood vessels in the eye, can also have blunt trauma (but does not have the fear of Aconite)
  • Not necessarily fearful
  • Periosteal pain
  • Indicated after eye surgery to help with healing
  • Improves healing og bone (not prior to setting/casting)
